Title: Film 4: Faces - Promo (2005) View count: 151 Rating: 0 (0 ratings) Description: This Film 4 promo for the 'Faces' season in September 2008 features a number of actors and actresses known to be popular amongst the Channel's audience demographic - most notably Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Joaquin Phoenix, Brad Pitt and Reece Witherspoon, all of whom feature several times throughout. The season kicked off with the UK television premier of Ang Lee's groundbreaking movie 'Brokeback Mountain' (2005), and both leading men - Jake Gyllenhaal and the late Heath Ledger - feature heavily as well. As with the Channel's other promotional material, the clip is typically Film 4 and it is impossible to imagine other movie channels in the UK, running anything similar. The movie scenes have clearly been chosen for the strength of their visual impact whilst the accompanying music - a recording of Ennio Morricone's 'Ritratto d'autore' from the film 'La Donna Invisible' (reworked by Adelphoi Music) - exudes a quiet sense of effortless. Created in-house by the Channel's on-screen marketing team, it gives the distinct impression of having been produced by creatives who clearly possess a genuine love of film, and is an excellent example of a channel that knows it's product and it's audience, and how to market to them.
