The group was an initiative of Professor Mike Xie of RMIT University and Peter Felicetti of Felicetti Pty Ltd Consulting Engineers. Since its inception in the late 1990s, ISG has played a leading role internationally in the theoretical research and practical application of the Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO) technique. Drawing its inspiration from a broad spectrum of man-made and natural structures, ISG aims to create efficient and innovative structural solutions to a wide range of architectural and engineering applications.
