Nick and I walked down the street, watching lights go off for the night. We talked and laughed, like always. Lately, he's really had some type of... I don't know... affect on me. I laugh more around him, smile more... I'm just an all-around happier person. Which is crazy, because he use to make me angriest person alive. I guess people really can change. [Nick's P.O.V.] How the hell was I suppose to do this? I can't just come right out and say it, that'd make me sound urgent and then she'd probably catch on to my amazing plan. Well, I've come this far, surely asking her out won't be a problem. "Do you remember weeks ago when I said I liked this girl?" I asked. Perfect. She was silent for a few moments. "I think I do... how's that going for you?" she asked. I sighed. "Well, we've been talking a lot lately and have gotten really close... I thinking about asking her out, but I don't really know what she thinks about me." I had to make this realistic as possible, and so far she's completely going along with it. "Why don't you just ask her... I'm sure she likes you just as much as you like her." I highly doubt that. Highly, highly doubt that. "I don't know... she thinks of us more along the line of 'just friends' when I really want us to be more. I've just liked her for the longest time... I'm tired of waiting around for something to happen, you know?" She nodded as we kept walking. We reached an empty park. Could things get any more perfect? "Just ask her, Nick. If she says no, there's other girls out there," she said as we sat down on a bench. I sat really close to her and faced her. "You're right," I said. She smiled. "All I have to do is ask her." She nodded and looked down, silence coming over the conversation. "Madison?" I asked. She looked up at me. "Will you be my girlfriend?" For some reason, a brick felt like it had been lifted off my shoulders. Is it really that hard to ask a girl out? I guess it was. [Madison's P.O.V.] Did he seriously just ask me to be his girlfriend? ...Holy shit. Talk about shock of your life. He looked into my eyes with his warm, brown, gorgeous- wait, gorgeous? I liked Nick as a friend, nothing more. I think. All of a sudden, different feelings started running through me. I didn't want him to be with another girl, I wanted him to... be with me. He's been talking about me this whole time? He actually likes me THAT much? "...You want me to be your girlfriend? Me?" "Yes, you. I've wanted this for four years now," he said. His voice was soft and calming. I didn't really know what to say. How do we know this is going to work out or not? Well, I guess there's only one way I find out. "I guess that's a no?" he asked. I stayed silent. Too many thoughts going at once. He stood up and sighed as he started walking away slowly. I quickly got up and followed him. "Nick, wait..." I said as I grabbed his hand and turned him towards me. He looked at me with hurt eyes, making me feel terrible. "I would love to be your girlfriend," I said with a smile. His face changed from sad to immediately happy. "Wait, really?" he asked smiling. I nodded. "Of course," I softly said. He embraced me with a warm hug and picked me up, twirling me around once before setting me down. I laughed and pulled away. He slowly leaned down and, for the first time, gently pressed his lips to mine. ******************** Sigh, oh Nick. ;) hm... 20+ comments within the next 3 hours or so and I'll post again, only because I love you guys.
