Title: DYBIG Chapter 14 View count: 63 Rating: 0 (0 ratings) Description: Hey guys! Listen to the song in the video! It's called "the faster the treadmill" and it's by I Fight Dragons, a band that my cousin joined a few months ago. Check out their album "Cool is Just a Number" on iTunes! :D ----------------------------------- I was handcuffed to the row of seats in the waiting room. I sat quietly for a few minutes before my 'escort' came to pick me up and take me into, as the lady at the desk had said, "Juvenile Detention Hell." I could clearly see the look of utter disgust on Nick's face, especially after the lady had described Juvie. I wasn't exactly looking forward to all of this, either. About ten minutes passed. Finally, a security guard walks in and says something to the lady at the desk. She nodded and asked, "Allie Carpenter?" I looked at her and nodded too. She pointed her thumb at the security guard. "Okay, sweetie, Chuck here is going to run you through all of our security procedures and then show you to your cell. Or room, whatever you want to call it." I nodded, even though all I could think abotu was that I didn't want to call it ANYTHING. I wanted to go home. I wanted all of this to just disappear. But it couldn't. Because I'm stupid. From my peripheral vision, I saw Nick roll his eyes at me. "Oh, shut up, Allie. I'm here now, and that's all that matters." I smiled a little, but if faded once I was being lead behind those big doors, and into the place where I would be spending the next 3-6 months of my life. But, if there was a bright side, it was that I would have Nick at my side, hopefully the whole way. And that felt good. I know I sound selfish, like all I care about is my own well-being. And I do care about taht. I'm not going to deny the truth. But honestly, what I've been worrying about most lately is how Mom and Penny are taking this whole thing. I haven't seen or talked to them since the night I was arrested. I have to wonder if my mom is keeping Penny from seeing me. I was passing through those doors. I wondered if any of this would end up changing me- being in Juvie, separated from my family for such a long time. Would I be a different person after all of this is over? Is that a good thing? And would it ever BE truly over? Chuck took me through all of the procedures that the lady at the front desk had discussed. And let me tell you- it was NOT fun. After I had been strip-searched, showered, checked for lice, or any kind of diseases POSSIBLE, Chuck handed me an orange jumpsuit. I eyed the hideous garment reproachfully, but put it on without complaint. I looked down at myself. Nick, who had turned away very gentlemanly while I was getting changed, took one look at me and burst out laughing. I glared at him and stuck out my tongue. "Oh, shut up Nick." I hissed at the MEANIE. "HA! Sorry, I just-HAAHA- I jus-HA!- Allie, I can't help it. It's orange, and about two times as big as you are." He snickered. "Meh." I stalked out of the room that I changed in, and Chuck began talking to me. "Allie, you're done with your procedures. Now, I'm taking you to your 'room.' You DO have a roommate. Her name is Deandra. On your cot is another uniform for you, and an orange pair of sleeping clothes." I nodded as we walked down the white hallway. We turned a corner, and I saw a single door, with a small fenced window. The room was numbered '241.' Slowly, the man unlocked the door. There were two cots in the small room. Sitting on one, reading a novel was a tall red-headed girl. She peered up at me, unveiling a pair of shocking green eyes. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Nick's jaw drop open, and I felt a tightening in my stomach, even though I didn't know why. The girl looked me over, and finally said in a clear voice, "Hey." The guard closed the door behind me and I heard the key turn. Well, here I am. ---------------------- Comment, rate, subscribe!
