Big thanks to a viewer for this addition!! Jonathon Alter is lying and/or just plain ignorant when he's telling people that her coverage was enormously fair, pre-primaries. The Center for Media and Public Affairs that found Hillary's coverage was MORE negative that any of the candidates, Democrat or Republican BEFORE and AFTER January 3rd in IOWA. For example: from October 1 through December 15, 2007. MAJOR FINDINGS: Hillary Pilloried? "On-air evaluations of Hillary Clinton were nearly 3 to 2 negative (42% positive vs. 58% negative comments), while evaluations of her closest competitor Barack Obama was better than 3 to 2 positive (61% positive vs. 39% negative)." ~~~ AND~~~ from December 16, 2007 through January 27, 2008. MAJOR FINDINGS: Hillary Pilloried? "Since mid-December, when the presidential candidates turned their full attention to the Iowa caucuses, Sen. Barack Obama has led the race for good press and Sen. Hillary Clinton has lagged the farthest behind. From Dec 16 through Jan 27 five out of six on-air evaluations of Obama (84%) have been favorable, compared to a bare majority (51%) of evaluations of Mrs. Clinton."
