The dove replies, in starlit sky But crow, i refuse to say if soliloquy can bring about this day i must know for sure For fear if the moon loves my voice, it will surely stay Squawks the crow, but dove, Do you not know the suns immortal love? Who are you to say your song of loving truth is not what breaks the midnights noose I am far more bold and clean than you, so I sing this midnight tune They climb as fire climbs to the walls of man or gods design silent is the dove, as the crow bleeds for the sun to shine Squawk, the crow pleads over and over and out of breath at times the dove breathes in, and slowly from wing to wing is ahead in time The crow says dove, do you hate me for beating you in tune For you break pace and push further towards the moon I have squawked and squealed and prayed and kneeled and still the sun comes not, as night will never yield the dove shouts back, from miles advanced cooing in beautiful pitch Into the sweet night air, his solemn voice is stitched i do not hate You crow, for believing that which you do not know But If you thought before you squawked, you'd have seen it in the midnight glow I do not know what i cannot know, or sing before i know the words I simply listened and slowly knew what i must learn as we flew though broken dew and twisted night, as brothers side by side i quickly soared from your wing as this night slowly died You see our song cannot coax or kill the moon from night Because further i have flown, And closer is the moon in sight Now i know this stone embedded in this blanket holding stars is nothing but an eye which must slowly close and is much too far for crows and doves to go, You see it falls as we reach it's peak The night is lighter now, We do not need to reach Crow squawk no more and let the learned teach The crow too far behind to hear the words of doves design kept climbing and climbing as the dove retreats, lowering as the moon slowly dies the crow alone squawking still, singing songs in cold nights chill freezes and falls and let this be a lesson to us all Those who do not know and speak, and say bolder that they are more Will feel the earth's cold floor no matter what heights they reach this tragedy, of dove and crow Rest in ignorance the crow, may the dove feel suns warm glow Tags: edenscancer, the crow, the dove, tommerman89, knivesmonroe, poetry, poetry battle, Author: edenscancer |
