Problem on a piece of Land belonging to the archbishopric of Maghagha in Egypt was reported to the Coptic News. On contacting the church for more information we were informed that the church has all correct documents showing their absolute ownership to the land since March 2007. But a court order supported with no official papers and some falsified documents stated for Mrs. Kahdia Lamlom to take the land as her property by police force. The Case is still pending a verdict where the new owner cannot win despite the given facts. But through that court order she had, the police was commanded to help her to put hand on the land. The church was able to ask the court to set aside the verdict showing the official ownership documents, but the police was insisted on implementing the court order by force, using six police vehicles, two fire brigades and several personnel in civilian cars, while implementing the transaction the administrator discovered that the beneficiary is the wrong vendor and the land specifications were different form those on the order. The act of transfer was stopped waiting for a declaration to show the real seller, during which about 600 Christians were camping in the land as a means of protection for the second day. On the next day on announcing the news by Coptic News Bishop Agathon from Maghagha explained to us himself that the land was given back to the church and that the church represented through him and Mrs. Lamlom has singed an agreement and he announced this statement: to all those who are interested in the church news all over the world, regarding the sale of a land belongs to the archbishopric which was sold by the wrong people to the wrong buyers. As the church has approached the authorities seeking assistance, a proper response was also received where the dispute ended by having a statement by parties concerned as an undertaking to the bishop declaring the sole ownership of the church to the land. The congregation and all members of the archbishopric raise their thanks to the Lord, Pope Shenouda and President Mubarak for such a peaceful end.
