They are on these meds for life. They have been on these meds for more then a few years now. Clover was very over weight from her under active thyroid condition.. as said she looked like a pot belly big. She had weighed about 50 lbs at one point.. now weighs between 35-40 lbs. Also Clover was drinking TONS of water and having accidents. This was also a side affect of her condition. Clover had lots of testing done, vets thought it was Cushings Disease. She had an all day test and then a sonogram. Sprite for his problem was first on Rimadyl, but it was to "rough" on his system so switched to Metacam. Much better on it. For him I give him a tiny bit of it. The less a dog can get by on the better. but not to compromise his comfort. I Love these Pups so much!
