Title: Chapter Four: Losing a Soulmate View count: 27 Rating: 5.0 (1 ratings) Description: Meanwhile... Mora stood behind her twin and sighed, pulling her hood over her head, the shadows concealing her face. "You cover more and more of yourself every day Noma-Chan... First, it was occasionally covering you eyes, but now you always wear the blindfold, AND you've added a mask." "Kin's attack... Made my shame apparent. I don't want the world to see me." She tugged the mask higher up. Her hair was light black now: she'd fallen from Yuai's grace. Without her goddess, Satan's seal was spreading quickly. She was becoming more corrupted by the day. "It's funny you mention it. Your doing the same thing." "That's because killers always hide themselves." Noma whirled around and the needle hit her in right eye. Blood spurted over the ground and she hissed, yanking it out and throwing it down. "Your a traitor." "The poison deactivates the vampiric ability to heal." Mora pulled her right hand up, revealing needles sticking out. Noma froze. "I wish that I hadn't had to. But in life, you have to keep fighting. Ironic, really," She stepped towards her older sister, "Considering your the one that told me that." Mora threw with deadly accuracy and Noma closed her eyes. Damian threw himself in front of her. He groaned, ripping the offending weapons out of his torso and threw them away. "You've forsaken your vow." Mora pulled her sword off her back and attacked head-on. "Damian, no!" Noma tried to move and suddenly Bishamomten was there, holding her back. She twisted, but it was impossible to break free. "You'll just end up killing yourself." He muttered and gripped her tighter. Noma continued to struggle, unable to reach her true strength. "Damian, no!" His foot managed to make contact with Mora's jaw and sent her flying backwards. His shoulders slumped; wounds covered most of his body now, the same said for Mora. They stood there, regaining breath, glaring at each other. Mora smirked and vanished. Damian fell. ~ "Damian-Kun! Save him, dammit!" Noma held Damian's body against hers, bloody tears slipping down her face. "Don't leave me... You're the only constant in my life, don't leave me, Damian-Kun don't die!" She sobbed, shaking, gripping him harder. Damian put a hand on her shoulder and pushed away so that he could look at her. "Noma-Sama... I-I need to tell you something..." "Anything. You can tell me anything." Noma stroked his face, wiping blood off of his cheeks, trying to heal the cuts and failing: the poison Mora had used was effective. A vampire couldn't heal the wounds. "Ever since... I saw you... "I've loved you." Noma froze. "Wh-what?" Damian smiled slightly and ran his fingers along her jaw, stroking the skin softly with his thumb. "You heard what I said, Izana. I was so tired of living, I wanted those guys to kill me, after what happened with Eve... I had nothing left. "And then I woke up and there was an angel standing over me, smiling. I didn't look at the blood on your mouth, I didn't care my neck was throbbing, that I was a vampire. I needed you ever since then, and I'd never felt like that before... "I was so sure I'd never fall for a woman and then you had to come along and ruin that. I never even thought of what everyone would think. I stood by you this whole time, I loved you this whole time, and when I see you with Bishamomten, I knew that I'd lost you. "But he makes you so happy and I only want you to be happy. I always want you to smile, and I need you to promise me that you will keep smiling and helping people. Your a beautiful person, Noma-Sama, and vampire or not, your the kindest, sweetest, most deserving person I've ever met. If I could, I would give you the world, if I could stay here a few more minutes and see your pretty eyes twinkle and you smile." "Damian..." Damian put a finger against her lips and looked at Bishamomten. "You have to take care of her. You have to be the one that makes her smile now. And don't ever let her give up." "I won't. I'll... take care of her..." He looked back at Noma and a tear fell on his cheek from her eyes. He smiled a bit, the effort paining him, trying to help her. "Cheer up kid. Life's good." "I don't want to lose you..." Noma whispered and closed her eyes. Damian leaned up and kissed her. Noma tensed, then relaxed and kissed him back. His lips were gentle against hers, and something in the back of her head clicked for the first time: She loved him too. He was her first fledgling, the first person she'd saved. He'd been beside her through everything and held her up. He was more than just her Beta... He was her soulmate. Tears flowed freely now from both of them, bloody and mingling on a puddle between them. He knew: he knew that if he had lived, that they would have been able to be together. It was in their very make-up to be together. Noma pulled back. "Damian..." He smiled again. "Cheer up kid..." Damian closed his eyes. "Damian?"
