Title: Belarus in te Eurovision Song Contest (2004-2009) View count: 204 Rating: 5.0 (2 ratings) Description: Belarus has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest six times, debuting in 2004. The country entered the contest in the same year that semi-finals began to be used to determine who would compete in the final. Belarus has so far only managed to qualify for the final once in 2007 with Dmitry Koldun. After the 2009 edition Belarussian president Alexander Lukashenko told that it was necessary to completely replace the current working team behind Belarus' Eurovision entry. Lukashenko pointed out his frustrations over divisions within the team. For the 2010 Contest the Belarusian entry will be organised by ONT, who will organise a national final for the contest, to be held in Oslo, Norway. Belarus' strong relations with Russia also affect its record at the Eurovision Song Contest, as it has so far given 12 points to the Russian representation at each contest. This, however, changed in 2009 when, with the introduction of 50/50 jury and televoting, Russia managed to receive only 8 points. The fact that Belarus gave 12 points to Norway in 2009 may be a result of Alexander Rybak's Belarussian background and the new rule of jury votes. 2004 Aleksandra and Konstantin "My Galileo" 2005 Angelica Agurbash "Love Me Tonight" 2006 Polina Smolova "Mum" 2007 Dmitry Koldun "Work Your Magic" 2008 Ruslan Alekhno "Hasta La Vista" 2009 Petr Elfimov "Eyes That Never Lie" Tags: esc, eurosong, studio, versions, all, songs, beyaz, rusya, recap, history, Author: yodel1986 |
