Title: Around the world in 80 days with Michael Palin View count: 14680 Rating: 4.83 (29 ratings) Description: Decided to put together a little montage of the famous and eternally "whistleable" (is that a word?) 80 days march from the 1988 TV series Michael Palin did, which attempted the fictional Phileas Fogg route from the Jules Verne novel,as a challenge. Paddy Kingsland composed a "very" memorable march for the series,and he wrote some interesting variations of it throughout the series. Obviously I won't put them all together here because it would be too long. But I've picked out my favourites beginning with the title march, the soft "map" version when he is describing routes, and a wonderful variation he wrote for the last program where Michael sees his journey before his eyes in 'reverse', adding some local spice to the march. Buy the DVD to hear the bouncy "Dixy" variation when he's on a train going across the United States. I hope you enjoy.
