Arizona Cardinal's quarterback Matt Leinart will enter training camp in late July as their #1 quarterback. Leinart is entering his third season and missed most of last season after fracturing his collarbone in week 5. Prior to his injury Leinhart struggled and was being rotated with veteran backup Kurt Warner during games. Leinart was unhappy but Cardinal's head coach Ken Whisenhunt has stressed he will not accept poor performance and if changes are needed at any position he wont hesitate making them. Following the team's recently concluded optional training activities, head coach Whisenhunt did not rule out the possibility of rotating quarterbacks once again in 2008. Last year Warner ran the no huddle offense better than Leinart. The team has worked with Leinart on their two-minute offense during their pre camp workouts and hopes he can execute it during the season. For Fantasy Football league players who invest a great deal of their time and big money to their leagues it creates a dilemma. Leinart cannot struggle early in the season. Whisenhunt won't hesitate to plug in his veteran backup and former Super Bowl winning quarterback in the position. Last year backup Kurt Warner passed for 27 touchdowns and 3,417 yards. It may be a good idea for fantasy football players who draft Leinart to also include Warner on their rosters. The Cardinals open the season Sunday September 7th on the road against their division rival the San Francisco 49ers. The Cardinals are currently a 2 1/2-point road favorite in their opener. Oddsmakers have made the Cardinals a 45 to 1 longshot to win Super Bowl 43. That will do it for today's NFL coverage.
