Title: Apricot Cheese Coffee Bread View count: 479 Rating: 5.0 (26 ratings) Description: Visit my blog at www.overthekitchencounter.com for more info on cooking and crafts! Here's a showstopper (in my opinion!) for you: Apricot Cheese Coffee Cake...well, that's the official name of the recipe but it is more a breakfast bread. An easy twisted sweet dough made in your bread machine (yes, you can make it by hand too, just takes a little more effort) which rises and puffs during baking to a very attractive finish. The recipe calls for sliced almonds over the top but I have left that step out in my video because we have a nut allergy in the family, but it would be spectacular with that pretty topping. My idea is also to add an icing sugar glaze over top (1 cup icing sugar, 2 Tbsp milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla). So good in the morning with your coffee...heat the bread in the microwave for 20 seconds and add a hit of butter - mmmm! Apricot Cheese Coffee Cake Sweet Dough: 3/4 cup warm milk 1 egg, beaten 2 Tbsp butter 2 cups flour 1/4 cup sugar 3/4 tsp salt 2 tsp orange rind (I used lemon, which worked well too) 1-1/2 tsp fast-rise yeast Filling: 125 g spreadable cream cheese, softened 1-1/2 Tbsp flour 1/3 cup apricot jam (or whatever jam you want) 1 egg beaten 2 Tbsp sliced almonds (optional) 375 F for 30-35 minutes, after rising 60 minutes first Tags: how to, make, bake, breakfast, coffee cake, bread, apricot, cream cheese, yeast dough, sweet dough, Author: a1angiem |
