Title: Appalachian Melody Ukulele UkesterBrown View count: 150 Rating: 5.0 (14 ratings) Description: Mark Heard wrote this song in 1979 and he passed away in August 1992 at the age of 40. He was a true musical poet in the 1970's. I have loved this song ever since I first heard it; I hope I do it justice. I simply finger picked strings 1, 2 and 3, trying to keep it simple. I tried playing this song many other ways including multi tracks and it just didn't sound right to me. The video is from my Mac off the roof of my car in Sakatah Lake State Park near Waterville, Minnesota. In the Lakota language "Sakatah" means "singing hills". The gold Maple at the end of the video is from a neighborhood park near my house and I thought it interesting how the wind and light plays with the leaves making them different colors as the well as the appearance that there are less or more leaves on the tree. Illusionary in a way. Tags: elysian, remiger, minnesota, kepasa, josephine, sakatah, lake, state, park, ukulele, apple, valley, Author: UkesterBrown |
