Title: Another New Trailers MFFKV View count: 528 Rating: 5.0 (3 ratings) Description: The 44th Karlovy Vary IFF will present two new trailers to accompany festival screenings. Last year, festival organizers initiated a new tradition. Replacing the one-off yearly trailers, a new long-term collection will be used to introduce festival films for a number of years to come. The new trailers common denominator is that they feature foreign and domestic recipients of the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema. The first four trailers were shot last year by director Ivan Zachariáš with the creative cooperation of Martin Krejčí. The stars were noted personalities of Czech and world film directors Věra Chytilová and Miloš Forman, and actors Harvey Keitel and Danny DeVito. Two micro-stories have been prepared for this year, one with Oscar-winning director Jiří Menzel, holder of the honorary festival award from 2003, and the other with actor, director, and producer Andy Garcia, who was conferred the award at the Karlovy Vary IFF in 2006. Our guests have always appreciated the festival for its beauty and friendly atmosphere, says festival president Jiří Bartoška. Were very pleased to be creating a new group of friends of the festival prominent world film personalities who will star in our trailers. They accept these roles disinterestedly, and their helpfulness is an expression of their feelings of friendship toward the festival, adds President Bartoška. The task of creating this years trailers has fallen to directors Martin Krejčí, who has created a graceful variation with Jiří Menzel, and Ivan Zachariáš, who was in Los Angeles last week to shoot Andy Garcia in a story featuring the Karlovy Vary statuette.
