Today was September 16th. They didnt remember my birthday. Not any of them. I sat in my hotel room staring at the knife. I promised I wouldnt but they promised they wouldnt ignore me. I threw the knife to the floor. Maybe if I hinted towards the fact it was my birthday they would remember. I went to Joes room and knocked on the door. Joe answered it. "What do you want?" he asked in a harsh tone. Before I could answer Kevin appeared behind Joe. "Get lost mop head." Kevin said. Why were they being so mean? They never ever called me any names before. I just stared at them. "I said get lost mop head." Kev said as he pushed me. I felt the tears well up in my eyes. "Aw the baby is gonna cry, Kev" Joe said in a fake sad voice. I ran to my room and slammed and locked the door. I grabbed the knife and made a cut. I just kept making cuts on my wrist. Finally, I threw the knife down and cleaned up my cuts. They hurt a lot. Some of them were still bleeding. They eventually stopped. The pain stayed. The pain from the cuts and the pain from my brothers treating me like dirt filled my body. I laid on the floor. I just laid there crying. The pain was too much. There was a knock on the door. I couldnt answer it. I heard my brothers frantic yells on the other side. They used the extra key to get in. They ran over to me. I tried to crawl away from them. But they caught me and pulled me into a tight hug. "You are an idiot! I told you this would hurt him!"Joe yelled at Kev. "Im sorry Nick. Im sorry." Kevin said rubbing my back. "What are you guys talking about?" I asked threw my tears. "Kevin thought it would be a good idea to pretend we forgot your birthday and be mean to you, and then we were gonna throw u a surprise party." Joe said. "Im so stupid. After all you have been through. Im sorry." Kevin said. I sniffled and said it was ok. They cleaned up my cuts better so they didnt get infected. Mom and dad came in to see what was taking so long for us to come to the party. Apparently Joe and Kev had been sent to get me. Mom and dad looked at the cuts. Dad said they probably wouldnt get infected. Then they stared down Kevin. They said they were never ever going to go with his idea again. We went down to the party. I had a great time.
