Take time to remember the Canadian soldiers who fought for our country and died by wearing a poppy and having a moment of silence. And now for the story: Joe (bursting into the room with a box in his hand): WHO WANTS RICE CAKES? Shania (thankful that Joe broke the awkward silence): Meeeee Kevin came out behind him with some movies and they watched them all night long. Well, the guys did. Shania fell asleep early and missed the revealing conversation that Joe and Kevin had, and Dave setting out for Texas after his long, long nap. Joe (mocking Nick): Oh, Shania, I was so upset when you left and I totally freaked out. Dont ever leave my side again! Ill just Ill just die! Nick *throws pieces of leftover rice cakes at his brother* Kevin: Nick, just admit it. You like her. It defeats the purpose of the brother/sister trip, but its really obvious that you do. She does seem like a great person, even though we dont know her that well yet. But we sure get along with her. And, Joe, you arent helping. Nick: I-I-I dont Well maybe. I guess. Im not sure. I like her a lot, sure. But its hard to think of her in a girlfriend way. Maybe I do have a crush on her Im just confused I caught myself trying to impress her and I was mad when I didnt get to at the concert. Does that mean I like her? He was having trouble covering up the fact that yes, maybe he was totally crushing on her, while still keeping from lying to his brothers. Kevin nodded his head at the symptoms Nick listed. Then he had an idea: if Shania fell in love with Nick, maybe the aftershock of the accident would thin out and help her recover emotionally. Of course, Nick as a boyfriend and Joe and himself as brothers wouldnt replace Tyler, but it sure would help. At least he hoped it would. Joe: Hey, I know that look. You've got a plan. Do tell, old chap, do tell! Kevin: Oh its nothing. Nick, go get the thick blanket for Shania. She can just sleep out here, again I dont think we should move her while she sleeps because Jen said shed be so mad she would consider coming after us with a machete if we woke her up. Plus, she looks cold. Nick *grumbling to himself and getting up to look for the bedroom closet blanket* Joe: Hang on, we didn't pack the thick, warm blanket. Why would we need it in the summer? And she doesn't even look cold! You just sent him on a wild goose chase! Kevin: Way to catch on captain slowpoke. Joe: haha, oh Kevin, you're soooo funny! Next time remind me to laugh. So why'd you send him off? Kevin: I have a plan...I think Joe: Don't hurt yourself. Kevin (glaring at Joe): I'll just ignore that. Anyways, I think that we should get Nick and Shania together. Nick is totally lovesick and Shania is so nice. They would be great for each other! Nick could be the male component in her life that she's missing. Joe (liking Kevin's idea): And she's with us all summer so we'll have multiple chances to try this when your plan fails! Kevin: Admit it Joe, I'm genuis. Joe: I dunno, I don't think Shani sees Nick like that. I mean, she looked pretty grateful when we walked out with chips and movies. This might not work, but I guess I'll help put Nick nd Shania together. Shanias stirred and turned on her side at that moment. She had rolled onto a bottle of orange Gatorade and immediately woke up without Kevin or Joe noticing. She didnt get up, though, because she heard voices, and they had said her name. She kept her eyes closed and concentrated on what Kevin and Joe were talking about while trying to inconspicuously move the bottle out from under her waist. Kevin: Hmmm How to start this?... What kinds of things do we do with our family that we can do with Shania as a family? Joe: Picnics, movies, trips to the beach, going to the amusement parks, shopping for Joe... Kevin: oh ya, we always shop for you. Joe: It's not my fault. As the middle child I need the most love. Kevin: mm-hmm. Having a picnic sounds good. Let's have one tomorrow. We'll be in Dallas in a few hours so we'll have time to stop. Joe:Ya the band probably won't mind if they have to set up by themselves for a little while. But umm...How is that supposed to make them fall in love? Shania *tensing up and thinking to herself*: I just decided to put my feelings side and know they're trying to hook us up?
