At Joe's house JOE'S POV I turned on the TV and wrapped my arm around Demi. "You're not gonna go back to Chicago and leave me again, are you Joe?" I looked at her. "Do you want me to? I was kinda gonna stay here and finish college with you.." I gave her a little squeeze. DEMI'S POV "But I mean Joe if you want to go back..." I kissed his cheek. He smiled. "No way, not without you..." I smiled back sweetly. He coughed a little. "So, it's summer...and we don't have anywhere to go..." I eyed him. "What?" "Well I was wondering if you wanted to travel anywhere. If you want to travel around the world you have to go to more places then Paris.." I giggled. "You're still going to do that with me?" He turned off the TV and lied my head down on his lap. He stroked my hair, playing with one lock at a time. "I don't see why I wouldn't... I want you to be extremely happy in so many ways..." I reached up and grabbed his hand. He looked down at me. "You OK there babe?" "Listen, I have to talk..." He pulled me up then lied down so I was on top of him. I tried to smile. "Hey babe, come on, what's bothering you?" I shrugged. "I've been thinking about my parents..." I felt my eyes get wet. "And?" he asked very softly. "And I miss them. They don't even know the guy I love or my best friend...they don't even know me..." I inhaled deeply. "Shh, baby..." Joe stroked my forehead. "You don't have to say anything more..." I smiled and cleared my throat. "Do you think they'll ever come back? The only thing I get from them is money..." I felt more tears form and I shut my mouth. "Shh, you don't have to say anything. It's making you cry...and I don't wanna see that..." I smiled up at him. "When you cry it makes me want to cry, OK? I don't wanna see you like that. Just let me talk, OK?" I almost replied, 'OK' but I just nodded my head. "Alright..." he sat up and pulled me onto his lap. He placed his forehead on mine so his face was really close to mine. "I don't know where they are, but they love you know matter where they are. I can't imagine a parent not loving their child, especially a lovely, gorgeous, special child like you. You're gonna be OK." I smiled and kissed him. "You are perfect," I replied. "You are too," he complimented back. He placed his arms around my waist and kissed me quickly. I smiled. "You know the Windham School Opening Fair is next month..." Joe chuckled. "And are we going?" "Maybe we could just hang out at the bonfire." He smiled. "Yeah, that'd be really nice..."
