George W. Bush: I paint in ‘spirit of friendship’

Former President George W. Bush has taken up painting since leaving the White House. An exhibit of his work, “The Art of Leadership,” is opening at his presidential library. The president gave his daughter, TODAY contributing correspondent Jenna Bush Hager, a preview.

>> i think they'll say, wow, george bush is a painter. i'm sure they expected to see a stick finger. i hope they take it in the spirit in which it was painted, a spirit of friendship and i admire them of aas leaders and i gave it a shot, letting them know how i feel about it.
