>> our breaking news tied to the search for flight 370. blake johnson joins us from perth, the closest city to this new search area but still some 1,200 miles away . blake, what can you tell us about this search?

>> hi there, guys. it's a big search 1,500 miles off the coast of western australia . we have six planes in the area searching the area nonstop, and the u.s. navy has also set a po poseidon jet. there is also an australian navy ship on its way to the search area. given the sheer distance, it's going to be a couple of days at least until it gets there. until we get a visual on the debris, we won't know what it is.
