Police issue new appeal in Madeleine McCann case

Investigators looking into the 2007 disappearance of British youngster Madeleine McCann are making a new appeal to the public. Police announced they’re looking into a man with an “unhealthy interest” in young girls. NBC’s Katy Tur reports.

>> hey there, natalie, it's quite a big development in the 2007 disappearance of madeleine mccann in portugal. why this wasn't known or investigated sooner. but scotland yard just announced they're looking into a man police describe as having an unhealthy interest in young, white girls. detectives do not know who the man is but they're appealing to the public for more information. the man is suspected to be linked to crimes in 2004 and 2012 in resort towns near where mccann disappeared. it is believed this unidentified man sexually assaulted five girls between the ages of 7 and 10 years old while they were in their beds. the man is described as tanned with messy, short dark hair and spoke english with an access. mccann disappeared just before her 4th birthday while on vacation with her family in portugal. she would be 10 years old today. natalie?
