Comcast reaches deal to buy Time Warner Cable

Making waves in the television world this morning, the merger will unite the biggest and second largest cable TV operators in the country. CNBC’s David Faber reports.

>> reporter: comcast agreeing to buy time warner cable in a $45 billion deal that will create by far the cable's largest cable company , effectively making it the first nationwide cable company . anti-trust regulators are expected to look closely at the combination, particularly those from the federal communications commission , which are expected to at least question whether this is simply too big a company in terms of what ielts powts power will be in the market. comcast believes it will be able to succeed in getting approvals from the department of justice and the fcc and close this massive deal by the end of the year.
