Well-wishes pour in for hospitalized Barbara Bush

Former first lady Barbara Bush remains in a Houston, Texas hospital being treated for a respiratory-related illness and what doctors describe as pneumonia-like symptoms. According to a family spokesperson, she is in great spirits and well-wishes are pouring in, including tweets from President Obama and President Bill Clinton. NBC’s Janet Shamlian reports.

>> reporter: hi, peter. good morning to you, the former first lady has spent her third night here at houston's methodist hospital treated for what has been described as pneumonia-like symptoms. shelves admitted on monday, treated by her regular team of doctors. on new year's eve, a family spokesman said she is in great spirits. we are hearings a you indicated from so many well wishers, including president barak obama who used a white house twitter account to send this message, michelle and i send our best wishes for a speedy recovery. on twitter wednesday from bill clinton . i'll will rooting for barbara bush 's full recovery while cease rooting for baylor today. all my best to her and hers. she is 8. she was last treated there about three years ago for a thyroid condition and it was her husband, the former president who was released from methodist last january after spending two months here for a bronchitis-related cough. peter, as everyone knows, mrs. bush considers herself. so do many others, one tough cookie.
