>> i know you from american idol . i have been a fan all of these years. what made you feel like you wanted to do another reality show and this one.
>> the opportunity presented itself and it was time for me to make a change. i was about to turn 35 and i was just afraid that some of the things that affected some people that are really close to me would affect me and i most definitely don't want to leave here early things that i can prevent.
>> you learned that you had diabetes.
>> most definitely. that was really tough learn. but, you know, i'm glad that i went there because you can walk around every day and feel completely healthy and be completely unhealthy at the same time and to get that diagnosis was hard but i'm doing what have to do to combat it. it's been an amazing journey so far.
>> how much did you lose on the ranch and how much have you lost now?
>> i lost on the ranch about 70 pounds. now i have lost about 112 pounds.
>> what's your goal.
>> wow, look at that.
>> wow, that's great.
>> what do you have to do at home to maintain that?
>> i workout every morning. i had to get up this morning at 5:00 and do it and then wait on the elevator for 15 minutes . but i have to make it a part of my life every day and make sure that i get it in. i want to be able to be around and perform my great music. i have a new album coming up february 4th . david foster has agreed to produce my next album.
>> doesn't he say you're the next luther vandross ?
