Fans remember Paul Walker with memorial

As investigators continue look into to the fiery crash that killed “Fast and Furious” star Paul Walker and a friend, the scene of the accident has now become a tribute to the star’s life. NBC’s Joe Fryer reports.

>> reporter: walker's publicist confirmed what's posting on the star's facebook page. the 40-year-old actor was a passenger in the car. investigators say speed might be a factor. it's both tragic and ironic as walker is best known for fast and furious , the blockbuster racing movie franchise .

>> to be a part of something that spanned this kind of time feels really good.

>> reporter: the cast frequently appeared on today, most recently in may.

>> we have been forced together for a long time and as a result cool thing versus happened.

>> reporter: on social media vin diesel posted brother i will miss you very much. i'm absolutely speechless.

>> everyone described him as a humble guy that was appreciative for all the success that had come his way from the franchise.

>> reporter: on the day walker died he was attending a fund-raiser for his disaster relief organization reach out worldwide. he recently posted a video urging fans to help the philippines.

>> there are times where you have to check yourself.

>> reporter: walker and his costars were already in production for a 7th fast and furious movie and he has an independent film called "hours" that's due out later this month. walker leaves behind a daughter that's 15 years old.

>> another sad loss. joe, thank you.

>> you spent time with the cast not long ago.

>> i was able to interview him twice and he's such a nice, nice man. and when i heard the news this weekend i was heart broken about it as well.
