Beware: Phone scammers are impersonating IRS

The IRS is alerting taxpayers to beware a recent sophisticated phone scam: Crooks are impersonating IRS workers and requesting immediate wire transfers, and have hacked the agency’s phone number so that it appears correctly on caller ID.
