Food stamp funding cuts could be $4 billion a year

House Republicans’s decision to cut nearly $4 billion a year from food stamps could affect roughly 3.8 million Americans. Senate Democrats and the White House said Thursday that the drastic measure would “take food out of the mouths of hungry Americans.”
