French Senate bans pageants for kids under 16

Fearing that pageants promote the hyper-sexualizing of young girls, the French upper house of Parliament passed a ban on beauty pageants for those younger than 16 on Wednesday. The ban is part of an amendment to a larger gender equality bill.
