Doggone! Meet the Obamas’ new pup, Sunny

The Obama family welcomed a new 14-month old puppy to their family yesterday, an adorable Portuguese water dog named Sunny, who was introduced to the world in a music video in which she frolicked around the South Lawn with Bo.

>> the grass doesn't get greener than moving in here in the white house . a sweet pad sitting on 18 acres right in the heart of the nation's capitol and from the look of things, sunny obama is fitting right in. move over bo, there's a new dog in town, sunny and the white house released it's own music video . a pair of presidential pets frolicing on the south lawn . the first lady tweeted so excited to introduce the newest member of the obama family, our puppy sunny. sunny is a michigan native named for her cheerful personality. a portuguese water dog just like bo because meliah obama has allergies. while bo fulfilled the 2008 campaign promise to his daughter.

>> you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the white house .

>> sasha or meliah must have sweet talked him this time around.

>> i'm so proud but for now one dog is probably enough.

>> in 4 1/2 years bo won the nation's he fexs, helping out with duties and boarding air force one and gracing the cover of the new yorker but always stealing the spotlight.

>> this is exactly what he does at home.

>> reporter: these days the obamas are celebrating their newest fetching addition to the family. in honor of sunny the obamas are making a donation to the washington humane society . one thing is for certain for the foreseeable future, the white house press core is going to be doubly careful to watch where it steps.
