>> way to propose to his girlfriend. so he involved the police and gave his girlfriend a good scare in the process.
>> we can waif the fine and let you go if you take his hand in marriage.
>> oh my god.
>> so it was all part of a bid to win a radio contest looking for the most outrageous proposal video.
>> i don't know.
>> we have the couple on the phone with us right now. good morning to you.
>> hey, good morning.
>> good morning.
>> well, congratulations on the engagement and winning the radio contest i presume. were you not a little bit mad after that?
>> i really wasn't. maybe for a couple of minutes. but that was it. i wasn't mad at him at all actually.
>> does he have some what of a long track record of pulling pranks with you?
>> no. not too many. he's a pretty funny guy and he has a good sense of humor as do i but no there hasn't been that many pranks.
>> we haven't won the contest yet either. people still need to go online and vote.
>> so ben your brother-in-law was the police officer that helped. it helps to have a little inside help doesn't it.
>> that wasn't my brother-in-law but that was a friend of him. i'd like to thank him. he did a great job and thank the st. john police force . they did a great job in helping us.
>> but when you saw your fiancee's tears coming down, didn't you feel bad at all.
>> i didn't know if i was going to propose i was so nervous. it didn't go down -- it was very unplanned and unscripted. so it was -- it was just as bad for me as her.
>> you haven't won the contest yet. if you let her spend a couple of nights in jail, that might have helped your chances.
>> and he laughed at that.
>> have a long and happy life . good luck to you. really appreciate it. thank you.
>> thank you so much.
>> i love that he laughed at the thought of her going to jail. that's a good idea.
>> he almost didn't propose he was so nervous. then she would have just had a fake arrest.
