Channel K9: 24-hour TV for dogs coming nationwide

Dog TV has been tested in San Diego, but come Aug. 1 ,it will be available nationwide on DirectTV. The channel features short videos that relax, stimulate, and expose four-legged friends to all their favorite activities.

>> reporter: there are more than 78 million dogs in the united states so the potential audience is huge and profitable. satellite subscribers will pay $4.99 a month extra. but here in suburban chicago some wonder if it's encouraging poochs to stay put.
