>> today president obama is spending his last full day in africa in tanzania before heading home tomorrow. chuck todd is in dar es salaam , tanzania with more. good morning.

>> good morning. the only region the president hasn't touch sd north africa . we have been in west africa and south africa and today it is east africa . during the visit to south africa , the ailing health of nelson mandela loomed large over the president's entire visit. he made a lot of symbolic visits. he met with the mandela family, a number of children and grand children. talked with mandela 's wife on the phone that's been at her husband's bedside consoling the family as it's going through this tough time and yesterday he went to robin island which is where mandela was in prison for nearly 20 years. the visit here for the next two days has to do with trade and commerce . the president is bringing business leaders here. the whole goal is trying to get more investment in africa but he's not the only u.s. president here in tanzania . george w. bush and laura bush are here. they'll be opening a women's health clinic and it's very likely that the current president and first lady and former president and first lady will meet at some point in the next 24 hours .

>> all right. chuck todd , thank
