Google pays summer interns nearly $6K per month

Most summer interns are unpaid, but tech giant Google is bucking the trend, paying their interns an average of $5,800 a month. Software engineer interns make about $6,500 a month.

>> i was unpaid. trending on huffington post , the stereotype of the underpaid intern does not really hold true at google. get this. summer interns are paid an average of nearly $6,000 every month. if you're a software engineer intern, you can rake in about $6,500 a month. meaning over a summer you can earn about $20,000. that's about half of what average americans make in an entire year, and it's raising some eyebrows. people downtown where google has the big new headquarters say the interns are out. they're spending money at restaurants, and they're good tippers.
