>>> the top of the news, incredible breaking story out of bangladesh, a survivor pulled out alive after being trapped for more than two weeks in the debris of the building collapse. nbc's jim maceda has the story. good morning to you.

>> good morning, savannah. they're calling the woman named reshma a miracle survivor. they saw her wave her hand at the scene and officials immediately called for a work stoppage, workers are seen franticly trying to cut through debris with saws and anything they could get their hands on and just going to air there were reports she was pulled from the debris alive and rushed off to the hospital. this would mean that someone had survived 17 days after the collapse and at least ten days, savannah, since this rescue operation became a full blown recovery operation. only today the death toll from this disaster soared past the 1,000 mark, and there are still hundreds of bodies believed to be buried under that rubble from this former garment factory outside dhaka, but of course now we do have at least a survivor and that's going to change the whole complexion of this ongoing operation. back to you.

>> incredible news out of bangladesh this morning, jim maceda, thank you.
