Will ‘Twilight’ author’s new film live up to the hype?

Author Stephanie Meyer is out with “The Host,” a new film that opened in theaters Friday. Meyer said the new film is unlike anything she’s ever done. NBC’s Diana Alvear reports.

>> "the host" is a young adult movie whereas "twilight" was a teenage movie. so i don't think you're going to see that insanity surrounding "the host" as you did with the "twilight" films.

>> reporter: but don't worry. there's plenty of emotional drama. whereas "twilight" had a love triangle , "the host" ups the ante.

>> it is a quadrangle, yes.

>> reporter: so far at least one "twilight" fan likes what she sees.

>> i loved it. it was perfect.
