Britain celebrates Duchess Catherine’s pregnancy

>> reporter: hey, savannah, good morning. you know, the timing of yesterday's announcement at 4:00 p.m . british time was highly unusual, rushed out because kate had to hurry to hospital t.meant that the news spread around the country through the evening, that the royals and britain have something new to celebrate.

>> reporter: they are celebrating a year that began still toasting a royal wedding , saw the queen mark 60 years on the throne, and the royals helped the country host a successful olympics, and now this.

>> we have now another generation of the house of windsor, somebody who could be a king or a queen of england in the next century, the 22nd century , and that is something for all britains to -- to really celebrate.

>> william and kate will move into kensington palace next year and where they will bring up their new family and, of course, it's where william 's mom diana used to live. already there's excitement here and a little concern with kate in hospital.
