TODAY’s Toy Drive gets 25k from HomeGoods

HomeGoods' vice president of marketing Katherine Beede talks with TODAY’s Kathie Lee and Hoda about the importance of giving back, especially around the holidays.

>> why is this important for you?

>> this year we're giving $25,000 cash to the toy drive, because we believe that helping kids during the holiday season is one of the most important things you can do. this money will go a long way towards making the holidays happy.

>> you don't just do it at christmas time , you're active with st. jude's and the jimmy fund .

>> we're partners with st. jude's childrens hospital and are participating in the annual thanks campaign.

>> you don't often think of toys when you think of homegoods, but you do have that, as well?

>> a ton of toys. along with the gifts we sell, we have classic and educational toys . we believe classic toys never go out of style and educational toys help children learn. we sell the same toys at high-end specialty stores , but for a lot less.

>> catherine can sleep well at night. living a beautiful life and making life possible for other kids.
