>>> well, "the voice" debuted its top ten finalists on wednesday night with coach blake shelton calling it one of the best all-around evenings of performances the show has ever seen but up to america to decide who to send home, and brian keith from team adam lavigne and sylvia jacob from team christina aguilera received the fewest votes. brian and sylvia , good morning. i'm sorry to hear about your elimination. what were you thinking when you got voted off?

>> overall, you know, we were proud of ourselves. it was, you know, shocking and plus everything that we had for you. again, i can speak for both of us saying that we were super proud.

>> sylvia , there was no indication that you were going to get sent home. did this really come as a shock to you?

>> i actually kind of was a little bit mentally prepared to possibly go home because, you know, it's always rough starting off the night, and, you know, everyone did really amazingly. i'm kind of glad i prepared myself though so it wasn't as big of a shock. it was an awesome experience.

>> you both obviously have a bright future ahead. thanks for the hours you gave us and hopefully you have a good thanksgiving. bryan keith and sylvia jacob.

>> thank you.

>> "the voice" returns with the top eight contenders next monday night at 8:00, 7:00 central right here on nbc.
