>>> and we're back now with a special halloween edition of "from bow to wow" where we find sheltered dogs loving homes. and our success rate still 100%. we're proud of that. and we're proud of our animal advocate jill rappaport for bringing it to us.

>> hi, matt, four years and counting. that's great news. and this is also october happens to be national pet adoption month. any month or day is a perfect time to get a heart melter from the shelter.

>> we're back here at animal care and control, and despite our 100% adoption record, sadly the cages are still chocked full. we have a great group in honor of halloween starting with this little angel . this is pumpkin .

>> pumpkin 's a 1-year-old terrier and he was rescued as a stray found wandering around the streets and our field officers rescued him and brought him in.

>> great dog, very sweet. this would be a great breed with kids, as wel

>> absolutely.

>> guess what this little guy's name is? boo. an adorable 2 1/2-year-old baby who had a very sad situation.

>> yeah, his owner was ill and could no longer care for him.

>> so he is looking for a lovable home. and he's going to get a nice haircut in the process. say hello to jack-o-lantern. jack for short and just a really adorable, what, poodle mix?

>> yeah, also rescued as a stray, found wandering on the street by himself.

>> when you first hold him, he was trembling for a minute, but he settles in. he's saying i need a new home now. we have our only girl in the group appropriately called candy, she's very transfixed on the boys over there.

>> s's a 2 1/2-year-old pug mix.

>> oh, yes, you are. and she says can you please let me down so i can flirt with that big fella over there. there she goes. and finally trick-or-treat, and what a treat this little boy is. still a puppy, right?

>> he's only 6 months old and a poodle mix.

>> and a cuddly little baby that wants to kiss you all day long. mwah.

>> we're joined by richard. good to have you back. does it drive you crazy when she talks like that to the animals?

>> they like it, though.

>> all right. first up on this halloween edition of "from bow to wow." we've got pumpkin . pumpkin looked like this, and now pumpkin is walked up by sarah from miami, florida, a member of our audience, and this is her birthday. hey, sarah . tell me about pumpkin .

>> pumpkin is the most energetic dog out of the group. he'll play ball with himself, throw the ball up in the air, catch it to keep himself busy. good in a home without a lot of other dogs but a lot of family members. a year old.

>> sarah , thank you very much, happy birthday to you. we appreciate it. all right. next up we have a 2 1/2-year-old dog named boo. and let's take a look before and now here's natalie walking boo out no richard, take it away.

>> boo is -- the foster parent couldn'tay enough about the personality of boo. good for a first-time dog owner because he's so easy.

>> loves the leg.

>> i think he thinks i'm a former owner or something.

>> or a former fire hydrant .

>> boo is a really, really cute dog. and again, 2 1/2 years old, a lot of personality and energy. we should find him a great home. thank you very much. next up, we have jack-o-lantern, and jack-o-lantern is a 20-pound poodle mix. and here's a look at him first and here is savannah bringing jack-o-lantern dressed as a hot dog .

>> with mustard.

>> where's the dignity in this?

>> he's a hot dog .

>> just a mellow dog. he'll
