William and Kate already living together

The recently engaged prince and his fiancee prove they are a modern couple, living together in Wales for eight months prior to announcing their engagement. TODAY’s Natalie Morales reports.

>>> a new photo of newly engaged kate middleton is fueling speculation where next year's royal wedding will be held. today, we turn to natalie morales in north wells at anglesey, home to prince william and kate . good morning to you.

>> reporter: yes, kate was seen leaving westminster abbey , fueling speculation that will be the choice for the royal wedding . as she remains in london, prince william returned back to work at the royal air force base and here is where they will spend their first years of life as a married couple.

>> reporter: their engagement may have been a traditional affair but kate and william are a thoroughly modern couple. the last eight months they have been living as man and wife where prince william flies as an air force pie lot of on rescue missions.

>> luckily we live in the 21st century and a lot of people live together before they're married. i think in this instance, the queen was delight.

>> reporter: far away from the media glare and in this insulated part of lake wales , they've been trying to lead a normal life , shopping at the local supermarket and picking up a takeout dinner and having an occasional drink at the pub.

>> she was here for a good hour. it was quite pleasing to have them in the establishment.

>> reporter: it's a long way away from the royal life and glamorous surroundings prince william is used to and kate might struggle to find the latest fashion.

>> a great place to live, a great place to holiday. fantastic scenery all around.

>> reporter: you have to get past the wind and rain.

>> we have a bit of rain here.

>> reporter: where it rains most days and temperatures rarely hit a high. william can go on his adventurous streak.

>> they have been running around with their helmets on.

>> reporter: kate can work on her photographly with the landscapes right at her doorstep.

>> reporter: how much of a boost is this for your tourism?

>> quite a boost. they will think, wow, prince william and kate middleton live here.

>> reporter: they're hoping the boost will be good for tourism.

>> it's good news and good for the economy.

>> reporter: they're not about to give away their secret.

>> it's not that much of an issue.

>> reporter: that's how kate and william hope to hold on to their private life a little longer before they face the full force of their royal duties. the royal couple will continue to live her through 2013 , when the prince's tour is over and after that, speculation already began where they will choose to settle then.
