A piece of Alabama history put up a stubborn fight before fading into the past. Engineers tried to implode a century-old smokestack, all that was left of the Avondale Mills historic cotton mill in Pell City, Alabama, but it failed to come down after the first explosion. It them fell onto a backhoe that was aiding in the demolition, leaving the lucky driving unscathed.Nov. 25, 2015
