Polio-like illness AFM on the rise among children, CDC warns

There is growing concern among parents and doctors over acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), a childhood illness that can cause muscle weakness and even paralysis in children. On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 50 confirmed cases this year, more than twice the number for all last year.
