Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump joins TODAY by phone to talk to Savannah Guthrie about launching television ads in several states, saying “it’s time for me to start advertising a little bit.” He says “Saturday Night Live” is “a special thing, like ‘60 Minutes,’” for him to appear on, and he points out that Ben Carson was not asked to host the show: “If I didn’t get good ratings, they wouldn’t put me there.” He also defends using bankruptcy laws in his business dealings, saying it’s a common practice and that he’s only used the laws “corporately.”
