Distracted teenage driving: New technology aims to save lives

New statistics from the National Safety Council show that more than 19,000 people died on the nation’s roads in the first half on 2016, a 9 percent increase over the previous year. Now new technology aims to limit distracted driving by teenagers. NBC’s Tom Costello reports for TODAY from a Washington, D.C., high school.
