Law enforcement officials say they believe Gavin Long acted alone. Now police are trying to determine the ex-marine’s motive for shooting six police officers, killing three of them, on his 29th birthday. Investigators are looking into Long’s writings as well as his extensive online presence. NBC’s justice correspondent Pete Williams reports for TODAY. (Run time: 1:27)
