While Ivanka Trump considers it an honor to introduce her father at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, she admitted to feeling some trepidation about being in the spotlight.
"I am terrified,'' she told Savannah Guthrie in an exclusive interview on TODAY Thursday. "I've never spoken in a stadium like this, but really I just want to make sure I do a great job for him. So it's a real honor and a privilege that he asked me to do this, and I think it's a testament to him as a parent."
Ivanka, 34, who is the daughter of Trump's first wife, Ivana, also shared her thoughts on the speech given by Trump's current wife, Melania, at the RNC on Monday.
Melania Trump became the center of controversy after it was revealed her speech appeared to take some phrases from Michelle Obama's speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. (A Trump speechwriter took the blame for the cribbed passages on Wednesday.)

"I love Melania so much and I am so proud of the job that she did,'' Ivanka said. "She's a very private person and for her to come out on that stage and speak from the heart and share her story about coming to this country.
"This is such a personal experience for her and she shared it in such a graceful and articulate way, so I am enormously impressed with her ability to do that and have great respect for it."
Ivanka, the second-oldest of Trump's five children, said she wants to focus on her father's character and presidential qualities during her introduction of him at Quicken Loans Arena.
"I know the man as a parent and I can share how he raised me and my siblings, and the father he was,'' she said. "But also I can talk about the man he is as a leader and an entrepreneur and a business builder and a visionary.
"Knowing him from those two very different vantage points, but seeing similar attributes really transcend both worlds, I think it gives me a bit of a unique perspective in that regard."

She said she hoped to speak from her heart, but joked that her first thought while heading to the podium will likely be, "Don't trip."
"And I think at the end of the day, I know I will go home to my children and they'll love me as much regardless,'' she said. "So even if I bomb, my father won't hold it against me."
