In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hotels and cruise lines are offering many creative (and pink!) ways to vacation for a cause in October.

From pink cocktails at the Four Seasons to pink pastries at New York City’s Benoit to a Breast Cancer Survivor’s cruise, each offering gives back to breast cancer causes like Keep A Breast, a global nonprofit breast cancer organization, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Who needs a better excuse for a cocktail and a quick vacation than one that gives back to charity?

Slideshow: 9 ways to vacation for a cause

Many of these pink vacations extend beyond October, reminding travelers that breast cancer awareness is a 365-day issue and not just a once-a-year cause.

Pink in October

Nantucket’s White Elephant hotel is donating $1 for every room night booked in October to the Marla Ceeley Lamb Fund, a local charity benefiting Nantucket residents who need to travel off-island for cancer treatment. The hotel’s Brant Point Grill, is cooking for a cause with a homemade $10 Shop Pink granola blend adorned with a twirl of pink ribbon. Some 50 percent of its proceeds are donated to the Marla Ceeley Lamb Fund. The hotel also participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Nantucket walk.

Pinky Ginger

The newly-renovated Westin Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego is blushing pink at its Italian-bistro restaurant, Pinzimini, with its Pinky Ginger cocktail (Pinky vodka, Chambord black raspberry vodka, ginger beer and fresh lemon) in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some 50 percent of the proceeds from October’s sales of the cocktail will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Going PINK!

The MODERN Honolulu is supporting breast cancer awareness by going PINK! with its MODERN BCA Pink Signature Cocktails (a portion of the sales from each cocktail—$2 from each—will be donated to support breast cancer research). Addiction Nightclub is serving $5 glasses of rosé champagne and $300 bottles of Veuve Clicquot yellow label rosé, with a portion of all Addiction's proceeds from the month of October donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. For guests lounging poolside, The MODERN is passing around complementary PINK guava sorbet. The spa is featuring a Pink Berry Facial with a blend of strawberries, acai berries and blueberries.

Living in Pink

For the month of October, the lobby of the Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown has been filled with pink flowers, the courtyard garden has been lit in pink hues and the Lobby Lounge staff is wearing pink ties to serve a range of pink cocktails. The $12 pink cocktails include Collins for the Cure (Tanqueray Gin, freshly squeezed lime juice, and cranberry juice, topped with club soda), Tickled Pink (a champagne cocktail made with Moët & Chandon champagne and crème de cassis) and Pink Berry Mojito (Bacardi Rum, simple syrup, and muddled fresh raspberries, limes and mint). Some 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated directly to Living in Pink.

Pink Dessert

Executive chef Dakota Weiss of NineThirty at the W Los Angeles – Westwood has created a special $11 pink dessert, PINK Tahitian profiteroles, which are being served throughout October. The PINK Tahitian profiteroles dish is a sweet treat of profiteroles with Drunken Udder Pink Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, strawberry pink peppercorn caramel and lemon basil icing. Proceeds from the dessert will benefit the Revlon/UCLA Breast Center.
