'Music is therapy': Ed Sheeran performs his hits, opens up on TODAY

Before the fun, fireworks and cookouts got into full swing this Fourth of July, the party was already started on the plaza, thanks to Ed Sheeran.

The English singer and songwriter brought a huge crowd to the plaza for a special TODAY concert on Friday.

When he wasn't performing his smash hit "Sing" or your fan-voted pick "Thinking Out Loud," he told TODAY that music was therapy, revealed the job he'd be doing if he wasn't a singer, and hinted at his numerous tattoos (though he didn't repeat the unbuttoning that he apparently did for Tamron while we were in a commercial).

Until we can convince him to take off his shirt again, you'll have to settle for his concert, and watch him be put in the hot seat by his fans:
