To virtually no one’s surprise, a lot of folks took pictures of their Thanksgiving meal before eating it.
Instagram, the popular photo-sharing service, said it saw record usage on Thursday, which also happened to be the first full day of Hanukkah.
“Images of turkeys and latkes — and even an occasional “menurky" — from around the world flooded our Instagram feeds as friends and families gathered to celebrate and share these special holiday events,” the company said in a blog post Friday.
“We saw record usage as Instagrammers shared a heaping helping of holiday cheer. Your Thanksgiving and Hanukkah-related photos and videos helped make yesterday our busiest so far — and for that we give thanks to you.”
Instagram didn’t offer specifics, but the numbers no doubt topped the busiest-day record set on Thanksgiving 2012, when more than 10 million Thanksgiving-related photos were shared at a pace that at its peak saw more than 200 photos posted every second.
