Pinterest is finally opening its doors fully and allowing anyone to "pin" info, links and photos onto a virtual bulletin board without waiting around for an invitation.

The change was announced in a post on the official Pinterest blog. You can use your Twitter or Facebook account to get started on the popular visual bookmarking site. (Or if that's not quite your cup of tea, you can also sign up using just your email address instead.)

While it is great to hear that the folks at Pinterest are confident that they now "have the capacity to offer Pinterest to more people," snagging an invitation to the website hasn't been all that difficult in the first place. In most cases, it was just a matter of waiting a short while after submitting a request.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to pin photos of my dream smartphone ... err, I mean wedding dress on a board.
